Why your skin gets acne on vacation and what you can do about it

August is now here and that means that most of us are already on vacation or preparing for the long-awaited summer break. During the holidays, the mind can calm down and the mind relaxes, but the same is not the case with your skin.

During travels, the change of environment (changes in temperature, humidity), exposure to the sun, lack of skincare result in our skin being "stressed" and "fighting back" with dryness and signs of acne.

Factors that negatively affect your skin during the holidays

The flights

"Airplane Acne" is a catch-all term to describe the oiliness of the "T-zone" and acne that can develop during a flight. This is caused by low cabin humidity levels during flight. The average humidity in the airplane cabin drops by 20%, so within minutes your skin is in the middle of a huge environmental change that causes an immediate loss of hydration. As our skin does not have time to adapt to this change, an accumulation of oil is created under the dehydrated cells that have just been created instantly.

The sea and the pool

Of course, nothing can keep you away from the dips in the sea you've been craving all winter. However, the salt of the sea and the chlorine of the pool dehydrate your skin, resulting in more wrinkles and acne in the most visible parts of your face (oops!).

Toiletries in hotels

We know it's very tempting to lighten up your suitcase with a few products while on vacation, but think again before relying on hotel products for your skin care. Most of them, since they are hundreds of thousands of products produced by their manufacturing companies, come with specific formulas that keep costs down, resulting in their ingredients being quite harsh on the skin or the lowest quality allowed. So. it's a no.

The lack of sterilization and hygiene

It's a given that during the holidays we're more flexible with our boundaries and habits and that's how it should be. You won't be in the dark about your beach towel that you had no way of washing and just left it to dry before using it again the next day. And of course you will do well. However, if you leave yourself in the sweet hands of the beautician during your next use of the towel in such a way that your face rests on the towel, do not be surprised by the pimples that you will see almost instantly. The same goes for your makeup brushes, which it makes sense that you don't have the same opportunity to properly care for and disinfect while staying at the hotel.

Yes, but you know better.

What can you do to minimize skin stress caused during your travels?

Proper cleaning

What you don't want is for your pores to become clogged with dead, dehydrated cells. That is why proper cleansing with the mildest possible exfoliation is your strongest ally. You want your skin to be clean of dead cells, oil, salt, dust and germs. reusable make-up removal discs ALEXIASKIN are your skin's best friend during the holidays as well since the 100% organic Egyptian cotton (something Cleopatra knew about beauty, right?) removes your make-up in seconds by gently exfoliation while at the same time respecting its hydrolipidic film. It is anti-microbial and designed to fight the appearance of acne in just a few uses while leaving the skin soft and glowing. They dry very easily and can be reused with all kinds of makeup remover products for more than 360 uses! Don't lose yours here

Deep hydration

Keep your body hydrated, with lots of water and moisturizing products. Your skin is thirsty during your vacation and if there's one thing you don't want to happen to you, it's constantly having that uncomfortable pulling sensation. To avoid this, use products with hyaluronic acid, which has the ability to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, and make several masks with aloe and panthenol that will relieve you from sun exposure.

Sunscreen

There is no greater favor you can do your skin than SPF50 daily. Skincare cliche or not, our skin weakens when exposed to the sun. The epidermal barrier works less effectively without adequate protection and in addition to premature aging our skin is more sensitive to external attacks.

Don't forget that summer is for enjoying it! With the above easy tips, you can be sure that you will have that incredible super skinglow without unpleasant surprises!

Happy holidays!
